Balsamiq Sponsorships Update for June 2020
We hope you are staying safe and are able to find time to attend various online events. If you can’t devote your attention to learning right now, that’s OK too.
In times of crisis, we are reminded of the importance of supporting one another. And we will do our best to raise up marginalized voices.
There aren’t many conferences for us to share this month, but we’re happy we were able to contribute to various events that directly empower women.
"Def Hacks is a certified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing immersive learning experiences for students in computer science. At our hackathons, we unite students, teachers, and tech companies to enable education, collaboration, and innovation. From first-time hackers to experienced coders, Def Hacks provides opportunities for our attendees to expand their skill-sets, get to know their local tech community, and create projects."
"A hackathon is an event where students individually or collaboratively create innovative solutions with technology, often using hardware, software, or both! In addition, due to many workshops and experienced mentors, a hackathon is a great learning opportunity and experience. Overall, hackathons are an excellent event for any student with an interest in computer science and programming to attend, no matter the skill level."
"Since 2010, more than 23,000 young people from 100+ countries have participated in Technovation Girls. With the help of volunteer mentors, they've produced mobile app startups that have helped address problems in local and global communities the world over. And while each year more and more teams take up the challenge, we know that there are always more problems to solve … and that there are people from every part of the world ready to solve them."
"Power By Girls is a Chicago based conference focused on providing young girls with the chance to create their own brand and express themselves through entrepreneurship. Our goal with creating this conference is to inspire the next generation of female entrepreneurs and close the gap between male and female leaders in entrepreneurship. The lack of women in entrepreneurship is an issue that Power By Girls is adamant about defying through presenting young girls with female role models in an array of fields. We want each girl to leave with a business idea that teaches them teamwork and know that they can and will reach their full potential."
"Women in Media creates a platform for empowering women within the Industry! Leading executives will provide insight into how they have earnt their success, the challenges they face and the innovative process & strategies they implement. The event’s focus is simple: Each speaker shares their INCREDIBLE story and our community walk away inspired with actionable tactics and strategies they can implement into their own working lives."
"GirlCon is an annual Chicago-based event that takes place in mid-June. GirlCon has breakout sessions from numerous companies that the attendees will have the opportunity to learn from and make connections with. We focus on how technology is a huge factor in EVERY career field, whether it be science, fashion, or anything that students are passionate about. The lack of diversity in STEM is a big issue that everyone on the GirlCon team is striving to fix. The attendees will have a chance to personally connect with companies from many different career paths and gain advice from women in both college and the workforce."
Stay well and we will be back next month with another update.
