myBalsamiq End of Life Announcement

Hello friends of Balsamiq!

This post is an announcement for our myBalsamiq customers.

When we released Balsamiq Cloud two years ago, we promised we would continue to support myBalsamiq for a long time.

Many of you who are happy with the product have been sticking with it, and we are very grateful for it.

In the meantime, Balsamiq Cloud has become a solid, full-featured product, enjoyed by over 500,000 users, working on almost 100,000 projects.

Another thing that happened is that Adobe announced the End Of Life date for the Flash Player - the technology that myBalsamiq relies on for editing wireframes - on Dec 31st, 2020.

Even if we would have been happy supporting myBalsamiq for years to come, this latest decision forces our hand, so we are announcing today that we plan to turn off myBalsamiq on December 1st, 2020.

We realize this is an annoyance to our happy myBalsamiq customers. We hate it when vendors do this to us.

Here's what we're doing to help:

  • we're announcing this now, with more than a year of advanced notice. A year goes by fast, but we hope it will be enough time for everyone to migrate to Balsamiq Cloud, or any other wireframing solution of your choice.
  • we have created documentation to help you migrate on your own, at your convenience.
  • we will be contacting Site Owners via email, to plan a migration path together. The plan will be different for paid or free/university myBalsamiq Sites, so please make sure your site owner email is up-to-date!

That's it for now.

Once again, the End Of Life date for myBalsamiq will be December 1, 2020.

We're looking forward to working together on this.

If you have any questions about the process, feel free to email - we're here to help.

  1. Amazing support

  2. Hi,
I’ve been retrieving a backup of our old projects (archived and active projects).
Let me know if we can make use of your kind offer * Offer you a 6-month extended trial on Balsamiq Cloud, starting on 1Dec.
And after the trial period engage with your ‘basic’ program.
What actions should we do to guarantee smooth transitions and ensure that old projects can be accessed on ‘new my Balsamiq’?
    Thanks in advance

  3. Hi guys,
I am not interested in migrate any mockup and I won’t need the cloud services. What should I do?. Should I cancell my suscription or, just wait for Dec 1?

    • Hello Leonardo,

If you no longer need access, the sooner we can cancel your account the better. If you’re the site owner, you likely already received an email from me with steps. If you still have remaining time on the old myBalsamiq subscription, I’d be happy to issue a partial refund and close the account for you. Send me a quick email to and we’ll take it from there.

  4. Hello,
I have just been charged for an annual subscription which ends in July 2021. So I was wondering how do you deal with situations like mine when the subscription has been paid fully and the software ends 7months before it expires?
I hope there is a fair solution for it.

  5. Hi there,

We have some old projects on our mybalsamiq account from a few years back – does this mean all project files have now been deleted?

If not, does creating a new account on balsamiq using our previous email address migrate our old projects over?

    Thank you

    • Hey Tamas,

If the projects are a few years old, it’s unlikely we still have them. However, if have the site owner email us (, we can look into it more deeply.

  6. Hi! I’m acting as the admin for our myBalsamiq accounts for Willis Towers Watson. Having problems logging in so I requested for a password renewal link. Been 3 hours but I haven’t received any links or email. Can you please help with that? I need to access the account so that I can assist our company users in moving their data etc.

    Thank you.
