Managing Your Balsamiq Wireframes for Google Drive Subscription
Please note that all billing takes place within the app, so whether you are a billing administrator or end-user, you will start by installing the app.
Signing up for a Subscription
Whether you are subscribing to a plan for yourself or for others, you must first install Balsamiq Wireframes for Google Drive before you are able to pay. All billing actions are done within the app, so you’ll need to install it even if you are not an end-user.
As subscriptions are tied to your Google account, please ensure you are logged in to the correct account.
Once the app is installed, you will automatically start out with a fully-functional 30-day trial period. However, you don’t need to wait until the trial is over, you can choose to subscribe to a plan right away after installing.
At the end of the trial, you will still be able to view and comment on your existing wireframes, but you will not be able to edit or create new wireframes unless you sign up for a paid plan.
To sign up for a plan, open Balsamiq Wireframes for Google Drive by creating a new project (or opening an existing one), and then select "Sign Up for a Paid Plan" from the Help menu.
You will then be taken to the billing page, where you can select your preferred plan and proceed by selecting "Sign Up". Remember that you are free to cancel your subscription at any time.
Choosing and Managing a Team Plan
When choosing a plan as described above, you will notice that you can select multiple editors. An Editor is a user that has the ability of creating and editing wireframes. This gives you the flexibility of paying for your colleagues by adding them to your subscription.
The first step is to select the number of editors you need. For example, if you’re not including yourself as an editor, and you’re paying for one colleague, you can select 1 editor from the dropdown.
You can select to pay on a monthly or yearly basis, and you can always upgrade or downgrade your plan as you see fit. This includes changing the number of editors on your plan (e.g. moving from 5 editors to 7).
After you have selected and paid for your team plan, your billing page will contain a section titled Balsamiq Wireframes Editors. That section includes a text box where you can enter the email addresses of the people that need to create and edit wireframes. Your email address will be included on the list by default, but you can remove it if you will not be actively using the app to wireframe.
Note: Make sure that you select "Save" after adding or removing people.
After you add your colleagues' email addresses, they will be able to create and edit wireframes. If they haven't installed the app already, you can send them the link to do so. You can add and remove editors from your list at any time.
Note: This option is only available on the billing page of paid subscriptions. Getting an error when designating someone else as an Additional Administrator?
If you need to designate another person to manage the subscription with you, there is an option to make them your Additional Administrator. This can be particularly useful for bigger teams, or to simply have a backup admin that can step in when you're not around.
You will find this option directly on your billing page, which you can access by opening a project, and then selecting Help > Manage Your Subscription.
Both administrators will have equal rights, with the ability to change and cancel plans, add and remove users from the list of editors, and both will receive an emailed copy of the monthly or yearly receipt. Keep in mind that administrators can also remove each other from the subscription.
Removing Yourself as Administrator
If you no longer need to manage a particular subscription, you can remove yourself at any time. Bear in mind that this option will only appear if there is another admin on the account, or if your subscription is no longer active.
The "Remove me as Administrator" option will show up underneath the credit card and payment info, as shown below:
Clicking the button will prompt a dialog for you to confirm the action. Once you have confirmed the removal, the action will immediately take effect, without an option to revert it. If you have removed yourself by mistake, you can choose to subscribe to a new plan, or contact the remaining administrator so they can designate you as an admin once again.
Updating Your Credit Card or Invoice Information
Our monthly or yearly emailed receipts include a link to your personal billing page for easy access. Alternatively, you can access your Balsamiq Wireframes for Google Drive billing page by creating a new project (or opening an existing one), and then select "Manage Your Subscription" from the Help menu. Here is an example of what a billing page looks like:
Select "Update Credit Card" to update the credit card and billing address for future renewals. If you only wish to update the billing address on future invoices, select "Show Address", and then "Update Address."
To edit the address shown on a previous invoice, select the specific invoice in the Billing History. You'll be able to edit and download a PDF of the transaction.
The invoice notification email is always sent to the email address associated with the administrator’s Google account. If there are two administrators, both of them will receive a copy of the receipt.
Changing Your Plan
Administrators can upgrade to a plan that includes a higher number of editors, or downgrade to one that includes a lower number of editors. You may also change the plan frequency (monthly to yearly or vice versa) at any time.
You can make these changes via your Balsamiq Wireframes for Google Drive billing page, which you can access by creating a new project (or opening an existing one), and then select "Manage Your Subscription" from the Help menu.
Once on your billing page:
- Select "Change Plan"
- Verify that the correct new plan is chosen (e.g. if you are on the 5-editor plan, but wish to upgrade to 7 editors, you will select the 7-editor plan from the list)
- Tick the option for "Monthly" or "Yearly"
- Select "Change Plan"
- And then "Confirm Plan"
You will automatically receive credit for any time remaining on your old plan. If additional money is required, your credit card will be charged for the remainder due. If there is any unused credit, it will be applied toward future renewals.
You will not be required to re-enter a credit card number, and your new subscription period will start immediately.
Finding Past Invoices
Receipt notifications are sent automatically following an automatic credit card payment. A link to the receipt, as well as to your billing page is included in this email. If there are two administrators, then both of them will receive the email and receipt.
Outside the administrators, we do not offer delivery of invoices to any other email addresses. However, if you need to share invoices with your financial department, you can easily forward the email notifications to them. Keep in mind that you must be logged in with the correct Google account to view your billing page, but the link to your invoice can be viewed and downloaded by your finance team without logging in.
Stopping Your Subscription
Administrators can cancel their Balsamiq Wireframes for Google Drive subscription at any time.
All billing changes, including cancellations, are managed directly via your billing page found within the app. To access your Balsamiq Wireframes for Google Drive billing page, you can create a new project (or open an existing one), and then select "Manage Your Subscription" from the Help menu.
On your billing page, select "Cancel Subscription" and then confirm the cancellation. By selecting "Cancel Subscription", you will stop the auto-renewal of your plan. Your credit card will no longer be charged, and service will be unavailable at the end of the current billing cycle.
After your subscription ends, you will still be able to view existing wireframes in your Google Drive account. However, you will no longer be able to edit or create new wireframes.
The option to remove yourself will become available after canceling your subscription. You do not need to remove yourself, unless someone else is trying to add you as an additional administrator on a different subscription.
Restarting Your Subscription
Administrators can restart their subscription at any time by selecting "Restart Subscription" directly via their billing page.
You can access the billing page for your inactive subscription by trying to create a new project, or by opening an existing project and selecting "Sign up for a paid plan" in the notification bar at the bottom of the viewer.
You'll need to enter your credit card to complete the re-activation, or to start a new subscription.
Transitioning from an Individual Plan to a Team Plan
If you currently have a 1-user subscription, and you wish to upgrade and add more users to your subscription, you can simply change your plan.
However, if you and a group of colleagues each have individual subscriptions, and now you wish to move to a single team plan, you might want to consider the following points:
- Decide who will be the main subscription administrator. Usually, this is the person with access to the credit card, or who manages purchases at your company. This person can either sign up for a new team plan, or upgrade their existing subscription, if they already have one.
- Cancel all individual subscriptions, so that you are not double-billed, leaving only the new team plan to be managed by the designated administrator. Remember that each user will have to cancel their subscription individually.
- Once individual subscriptions have been canceled, the designated administrator can add users to the new team plan by entering their email addresses on the Balsamiq Wireframes Editors list on their billing page.
Note: Designated administrators do not have to count as one of the editors. The admin can remove their email address from the list of editors and still be able to manage the subscription and billing aspects.
Changing Your Google ID
Your subscription is tied to a single Google ID (email address). If you're an administrator, your subscription renewal notifications will be sent to this email, and you will need to be logged in with the correct Google ID in order to access Balsamiq Wireframes for Google Drive.
If you wish to change your subscription to use Balsamiq Wireframes for Google Drive with a different Google ID (email), you'll need to stop your current subscription and re-sign up when logged in with the Google ID you prefer to use.
