Instead of paying for someone's gym, which not everyone has access to or needs, we give our employees a more precious resource: time.

Balsamiq's exercise policy

Exercising has TONS of benefits. It prevents burnout, it makes us more productive, and it makes us live longer, happier lives.

In order to encourage everyone at Balsamiq to stay healthy, we can take some of our work hours (around 5 hours a week for a full-time person) to exercise or do some physical activity.

This could mean going to yoga, taking a zumba class, going out dancing one night and sleeping in the next day, going for a bike ride or a long walk, or even shoveling gravel if you're into that kind of thing... 😄 Although not a requirement, consider group activities or sports to help combat remote-work-induced loneliness.

Share what you do in Slack or in a personal internal blog post, too: it will encourage people to do more as well!

That's it! It couldn't be simpler. People can do this whenever it makes sense for them, and can do whatever makes sense to them. There's no accounting or admin impact, it's fully self-service. 😄
