myBalsamiq End of Life announcement

Hello friends of Balsamiq!

This post is an announcement for our myBalsamiq customers.

When we released Balsamiq Cloud two years ago, we promised we would continue to support myBalsamiq for a long time.

Many of you who are happy with the product have been sticking with it, and we are very grateful for it.

In the meantime, Balsamiq Cloud has become a solid, full-featured product, enjoyed by over 500,000 users, working on almost 100,000 projects.

Another thing that happened is that Adobe announced the End Of Life date for the Flash Player - the technology that myBalsamiq relies on for editing wireframes - on Dec 31st, 2020.

Even if we would have been happy supporting myBalsamiq for years to come, this latest decision forces our hand, so we are announcing today that we plan to turn off myBalsamiq on December 1st, 2020.

We realize this is an annoyance to our happy myBalsamiq customers. We hate it when vendors do this to us.

Here's what we're doing to help:

  • we're announcing this now, with more than a year of advanced notice. A year goes by fast, but we hope it will be enough time for everyone to migrate to Balsamiq Cloud, or any other wireframing solution of your choice.
  • we have created documentation to help you migrate on your own, at your convenience.
  • we will be contacting Site Owners via email, to plan a migration path together. The plan will be different for paid or free/university myBalsamiq Sites, so please make sure your site owner email is up-to-date!

That's it for now.

Once again, the End Of Life date for myBalsamiq will be December 1, 2020.

We're looking forward to working together on this.

If you have any questions about the process, feel free to email support@balsamiq.com - we're here to help.
