Balsamiq dev update for October 2018

This month has been all about bug fixes, tweaks, and beta testing the new desktop apps!
Posted

As unbelievable as it may seem, it's November already, and time for another dev update!

First, I realized that I forgot to talk about our new Atlassian Data Center plugins that we released last month. Our plugin team worked hard to make sure we were ready for Atlassian's new product line, and the response has been great so far. If you're a Data Center customer who was wondering if our plugins were ready for you, wonder no more!

On the Balsamiq Wireframes for Web side of things (which covers Balsamiq Cloud and our plugins), everything is humming along nicely. We fixed a lot of bugs (like an annoying copy/pasting bug that affected some browsers), made some tweaks (like changing the session timer to 30 days so you don't get logged out as much), and generally prepped things for Cloud's new notification feature, which is coming very soon. Here's a sneak preview:

While the web side of things has been quietly busy, the Balsamiq Wireframes for Desktop side of the fence has been loud and exciting. We started our private beta test this month, and have been slowly inviting users to help us find bugs. Being a complete re-write (ditching Adobe's Flash technology for more native frameworks like Javascript) there is a lot to test, meaning we are not on the home stretch quite yet. But this is a major step, and it's exciting.

If you would like to be a part of the beta, send us an email, and let us know your platform of choice (macOS or Windows). That's all we need to get you added to the waiting list!

A short update this month, but a big month nonetheless. Hopefully your Halloween was candy-filled and wonderful! Let's meet back here next month for more.

Until then, Happy Wireframing. 😊
